Strategies for Online Teaching of Digital Natives

Session Description
There is a divide in the educational system today between digital natives and digital immigrants. Students entering college for the first time today are considered digital natives, while the instructors teaching them are digital immigrants, hence the divide. Digital natives learn differently from previous generations and the current teaching strategies implemented by today’s instructors do not meet the needs of these students. This presentation will discuss an online workshop that was created to inform instructors teaching strategies for digital natives, including workshop details, workshop structure and reflection on designing the workshop.
