Session Description
Training for online faculty is paramount to the success of students as well as for the quality of the program. In the pursuit for for strategies to grow the availability of certified faculty for online courses, TCCD developed a program geared for experienced online faculty and also for those new to the modality. Through a Competency Based Education training model, experienced online faculty is no longer to required to train again in the same LMS and pedagogy strategies, instead they will demonstrate their prior developed skills via a series of assessments. Faculty members are paired with instructional designers to design or redesign a course thus freeing them to be SME. Participants will learn strategies to speed the process to certify faculty in as little as 1 business day. Participants will receive valuable information regarding how to develop a mentoring program that includes pairing new faculty with experience instructors.
