Session Description
For centuries, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite has been regarded as the “University of Freemasonry”: an institution of esoteric learning with considerable influence worldwide. In recent decades, however, the Scottish Rite has had challenges adapting to the Digital Age, leading to many of its important teachings becoming forgotten by younger generations. In an attempt to move the Scottish Rite into the 21st Century, a hybrid Masonic education program is being developed to make the Scottish Rite’s vast repositories of knowledge more readily available to Millennial Freemasons. As much of the content that will be covered in this course is secret, and therefore inappropriate to be online, this course will utilize a hybrid model to teach foundational concepts online while reserving esoteric lessons for face-to-face classes. This presentation will examine the online aspects of the course, and how the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to learn about ancient mystery schools can acquired with the most cutting-edge technologies and learning theories.
